Collage, stained newsprint on canvas 9 x 16 x 2 in (22.86 x 40.64 x 5.08 cm)

This work is a rare example of success which was to me a new medium: collage. Working in the abstract was also a new direction. 

I began to think of the patterns which my Grandmother made in the braided rugs she made from fabric scraps.

The newsprint was from my fathers inventory of old newsprint covering his career in media.
